Our readers may know friendly real estate agents Christina and Tarek El Moussa from the popular HGTV television show "Flop or Flop," as they buy distressed homes and property and "flip" them for profit. Unfortunately, it appears that the end is near for the couple, as husband Tarek El Moussa has filed for divorce from Christina following seven years of marriage.
This comes as no surprise to fans of the celebrity couple, as it was recently reported that last month Tarek filed for a legal separation from Christina. It was also recently revealed that the couple had been on the ropes for some time now, following an altercation involving a gun at their home in California. No charges were filed following the incident. Some believed inappropriate texting may have led to the initial dispute, but this was denied by the couple. The couple had turned to counseling following the incident to try to repair the marriage, and initially decided that a separation was best to evaluate the future of their marriage.
Although their net worth is not public, considering their continued success in the real estate market and fame on the reality television show they may have made significant income during the time of their marriage. As with all high net worth divorces, there are many factors that must be considered when it comes to property division.
We do not know whether a prenuptial or postnuptial agreement was ever created for the couple, but if no documents exist it is important for each side to protect their assets by getting the right information. Considering the complexity of a high asset divorce, making the right decisions is crucial to obtaining a fair and satisfactory outcome for all parties involved.
