Christina El Moussa of "Flip or Flop" opens up about divorce

You may know Tarek and Christina El Moussa from the hit reality television show "Flip or Flop" on HGTV. On air, the couple shares their trials and tribulations while they try to flip houses on the real estate market. Off air, however, the couple has gone through some difficult times that they ultimately were unable to overcome.

They separated in May 2016 following an altercation with a gun, which both sides dismissed as simply a "unfortunate misunderstanding." The couple legally divorced in January of this year, but what is especially interesting about this story is that they still plan on working together on their television show post-divorce, currently filming their seventh season.

What is important to note is that this was a high-profile couple, with significant property interests, real estate properties and high assets. Although it has not been publicly revealed how their assets were distributed following the divorce, one could speculate that this is a success story, at least from a high asset divorce perspective.

It is rare that a couple with such complex business assets are able to not only divide up the assets without public conflict, but can also still work together. This can be an example that not all divorces are messy. With proper planning, knowledge and working together, anything is possible. But planning is crucial, and having the right professional team at your side can make a big difference in how property division is determined.

Anyone in the White Plains area who has questions about high asset divorce, or any other family law issue, may want to enlist the help of an experienced family law attorney.
