Are women favored in a child custody dispute in New York?

For a long time in New York, women were generally as seen as the caretakers for children and the men would provide for the family financially. This line of thinking has definitely changed over the years and roles are much different than they used to be. However, there is still a notion that the mother will be favored over the father in child custody disputes. This is generally because there are still stereotypes that mothers care for the children better than men.

Enforcing out-of-state child support orders in New York

It is important that both parents contribute to the financial needs of the child after a divorce or end of a relationship, and this is usually accomplished through child support orders. When both parties live in the same state the same agencies collect and enforce child support orders, but, in many situations, one parent lives in a different state than where the child lives.

Role of a forensic accountant in a high asset divorce

No matter how many assets people have, if they end up divorcing they will need to go through the process of dividing their assets. It can be much more complicated though in a high asset divorce. Not only do people in this situation have a large amount of assets, those assets can also be complicated to divide. People may own various properties, businesses, collectables, investments, stock options and other assets. Many times, it is difficult to even value these assets and people going through a high asset divorce may need to utilize a forensic accountant.

Mediators in divorce mediation must keep information confidential

Some people in New York really like to keep their information private. People make sure that others do not have access to emails, text messages, bank accounts, credit cards and many other aspects of their lives, and usually do not like other people to know their exact financial situation or know about the problems they are having with a spouse or their children. However, in certain situations, these issues could become public knowledge.
